Hard Times in the Triolan Quarter

EMO_Symbol.jpg

It is Tuesday night in the Triolan Quarter, and after the young group of friends known as TEENAGE RAMPAGE escape through a secret alley, having killed 17 ghouls; they reach the house of Mr and Mrs Robb and get some well-earned rest.

On Wednesday, Gangwulf, Jack of Badside Row, Sni Ve-Lor, Spinwind and Squeek Squaker find out that Martial Law has been declared in the Triolan Quarter. They are ordered by Harkesh Guards to attend a ceremony at midday in Central Square where three gargantuan red dragons descend on the Triolan Quarter and breath fire on 450 decaying bodies left over from the stirge swarm. Later that evening, the party enjoy some festivities in the garden of The Black Nurian but come home that night to find Gangwulf’s front door open, the lock busted, and his mother’s prize Charlie Mingus Vase stolen.

All of Wednesday they seek for answers but to no avail. Jack scours Badside Row, Sni Ve-lor questions some of his less savoury acquaintances. At least they find Anna the Locksmith who gives them a good price on a lock and even fits it for free. Jack’s contacts send Geddy Lee round to the house with information on a place to stay. They check the place out and it looks good but it costs everything they have to make a down payment to secure it.

Martial Law is lifted on Friday and the group scour the market for clues as to the whereabouts of the stolen Vase. They speak to Big Jimmy and Wee Jimmy. Wee Jimmy knows something, but he won’t divulge without payment; and they are down to their last few pennies

Like a gift from the Gods, Sni Ve-lor finds a loose floorboard in his new room and uncovers a magic scroll. It is just enough to make Wee Jimmy’s day and he tells them of a warehouse in the Triolan Quarter where stolen stuff “hangs around” until it is ready to be sold. The group make their way to case the place, even though it is midday on a busy street.

Comments

“Lada grant us guidance” Gangwulf prayed, and lo! From the room near the cellar Sni hailed a hidden find. A find tha he could not fence secretly…

The group gathered and unravelled an old scroll, left for some hidden purpose? Spinwind the mage waved a dextrous hand, practised in arcane casting and his face sunk in disappointment… It was a divine scroll. Gangwulf felt inwardly vindicated, Lada had answered his remonstrances. Reading the scroll, it was enough, enough to pay the gang member to talk, enough to learn his secrets, to get the address…

Waving the scroll for emphasis he smiled and said “It would seem some stroke of luck has aided us my friends. Let us take advantage of fate, let us recover what has been wrongfully taken and find this thief. Come the morning let us… test our mettle against fate itself!”

Jack puffed up his chest, braced ready for battle, Squeek looked ashen and afraid as always, Sni looked disappointed that the scroll was not some personal profit to himself and Spinwind was mentally somewhere else beyond the moment.

Gangwulf felt the recovery of the vase was a start, but the power-play that led to the ghouls and stirges worried him and would take much unravelling…
